We breed and raise miniature, longhaired, AKC Dachshunds in a variety of patterns and colors. Our top priority is producing puppies with excellent temperaments and health that are true to the breed standard. We are a small, in-home breeder and all of our puppies are raised as a part of our family.

A friend described the dachshund as a ‘big dog in a little dog’s body’, and this really does capture the essence of the breed. While dachshunds are short and small, they are much more than a lap-dog. Dachshunds are tough little dogs that enjoy a good hike as much as a good rest on the couch. They are funny, playful, smart, adventurous, and so affectionate.

Discovery Dachs is located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, along the route of Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery. These hardy dogs would have been perfect additions to the Corps as capable little mountain climbers and nighttime sleeping bag warmers.
